Several problems with the "ramp theory". 1. Trees don't grow anywhere near this location and shipping the amount of trees needed to roll these massively heavy stones into place would require more shipping power than that region has ever had available in modern or ancient times. 2. The logs would have been crushed to pulp by the shear weight of these stones long before they reached their designated spot within the pyramid. 3. Where did all of the material for building a ramp wander off to? It clearly isn't anywhere near the pyramid. If such a massive ramp was made wouldn't we see signs of it still there at the pyramid? 4. How did such primitive people build a structure that even in modern times we would find difficult to build so precisely without any tools? I definitely think they had some kind of help.
There would be evidence of an EXTENSIVE amount debris around this area that was used for this ramp. These artifacts would show abrasion of stones being dragged on their surfaces. Where is this evidence?
But, even more questionable is the fact that this work was done without breakage. How could a "primitive" society lift such heavy blocks without a high level of damage to edges and surfaces?
This is evident in other structures around Egypt. How could they have gotten those cornices up to the top of the columns in the Temple of Hathor so perfectly without nicks or scrapes.
It is totally amazing.
Our modern society cannot do this!
I have seen modern stone buildings with nicks and scratches in some of the pieces - and they are MUCH smaller than multi-ton blocks.
Maybe they should look back at the Japanese attempt to build a half-size pyramid - I believe it was in the 1980s.
They tried the rope-and-pulley method that failed. Finally, after using state-of-the-art technology at the time - the most powerful cranes - they failed.
They finally gave up.
I believe that this would cost more than just $ 5 billion to complete - without corner-chipping, and with hair-thin seams - that are apparent on what is left of the casing stones.
I don't know about the whole "opening it in 1000 years" thing. As if we're somehow keeping a secret from future generations, about how we lived and thought way back here in the 21st century, to be revealed only at the appointed time. No, just not working for me. But the artist's conception looks like a beauty of a pyramid.
im just left wondering, what medium will the stuff going in this time capsule have? Any forms of eletronic storage will be obsoleate long before then, not to mention no longer working. That just leaves the oldies methods, engraving stone or metal. Perhaps some of what will go in will be records of our theroies of the universe and stuff, to see if in 1000 years, we were right. Then again, a lot of things can change in 1000 years. It would be interesting to know what is going in this time capsule. And it would be cool to be able to be around in 1000 years to see it opened. Wonder if I can find me a cryogenic statis chamber before then, and freeze myself until its time to pen it.
Eric VonDaniken asks; How did the Egyptians build such a structure that we cannot today?
Answer: We can but have no reason or motivation to do so.
The fact that they did create such incredible structures, is proof of what brilliant engineers they were, the reason [to launch the spirit of their pharaohs to the stars] how much they still needed to learn.
Well, regarding the construction of the blocks, a new theory (supported by the Qur'an) is that the blocks are shaped and then heated to be solid, which means that they did not have to move them. They took the mud, which is easy to move, formed, then heated to make a block.
The study is done by Joseph Davidovits in his book:The Pyramids: An Enigma Solved
This is the article in English which shows that this was mentioned more thatn 1400 years ago in the Qura'n:
This article shows a study that says blocks are not moved from place to another as is. They moved clay (which is easier to carry), formed it into blocks, and then heated it. And this was mentioned 1400 years ago in the Qur'an. This is study is done by Dr. Joseph Davidovits

I purchase lottery tickets instead of buying beer. If I win have had thoughts of building a castle out of ceramic blocks. Now I think would be a neat idea to build a pyramid out of ceramic blocks. Why reinvent the wheel, build a better one. I would also be lifting the blocks with balloons and/or kites depending on current wind conditions. Less cost that way.
Perhaps tripling the budget estimates is a good idea. Since there is not a single piece of ramp evidence on the Plateau, we have not (until now) been able to explain how the Constructors built the three pyramids resting on the Giza Plateau, let alone excavate the 14B cu/ft of limestone that was Mount Giza (the beginning nature of the Plateau), www.mountgiza.com.
We already have our Great Pyramids, The Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C..
Thank you for the Newsvine message and for the info on pyramid building.
I will look this up.
I can recommend some interesting literature that I read, and you may be interested in:
"The Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt"
Advanced Engineering in the Temples of the Pharaohs
by Christopher Dunn
2010, Bear & Co., 987-159143102-2
The works of this author has captivated my imagination. I don't know if you or anyone else has heard of him, but he has written several books on the subject.
This book describes the incredible symmetry, for example, of the colossal statues of Rameses II. He took special photographs to proove that the right-to-left symmetry of the faces are an achievement that boggles the mind.
If this culture (with bows and arrows and chariots, yet) can carve statues to this level - in granite and diorite (to name a couple of the HARD ones), sorry but...
who does the scientific establishment think they are kidding?
Chris Dunn is a respected engineer - not a crackpot. His research is taken to the level that garners this respect.
He gets into other aspects of the Egyptian achievements that raise super questions about what we have been fed by the establishment.
I hope you will get a chance to investigate this. It is totally amazing.
Sounds worth it to me! Can you imagine how much fun it would be to help build something like that? I would love to be a part of that project! It would be monumental, and awe inspiring to say the least! I can't believe how excited I would be to be on that construction crew. Not only that, but it would be a very historic event which anybody would be happy to be a part of!!! What a worth while cause tha would be? I think it would be a terrific adventure of monumental proportions! Count me in!

LOL Some of what you started talking about made sense until you ended with the indirect reference to advanced life forms bit.
Hehe, those 4000 slaves were aliens, they knew their way around a pyramid inside and out.
Brett4Freedom,
Fully agreed.
This ramp or inside-out idea seems totally wet.

Established science, try again.

Good piece.
Typo: Hoover Dam is in Nevada, and/or on the Colorado.
