That sounds awfully shady to me. I thought the whole point of serving someone was to insure, face to face, that they physically took delivery of the summons?
I can't agree with this because I may not use Facebook for months on end. Not to mention you would have to friend people in order to give them access to your wall. They could send you a message directly on facebook, but I'd likely look at it and go, oh SPAM...delete.
So if they send a subpoena or jury selection, will I be arrested because I don't check my Facebook daily? Yeah, this isn't what FB is for.

This is only if the one who got "served" is ignorant enough to "agree" that he got served.
Is it that uncommon that people give their Facebook password to others?
We are not all as ignorant as the government thinks we are.
Agreed, Brokinarrow. Taking into account facebook's recent changes (i.e. Timeline), I only see 1 in 5 posts directed towards me anyway.
This would be very easy to miss, and extremely easy to claim you never saw.

Lucky me , I do not and never have had a facebook account nor am I likely to ever have one in the future !
Still trying to figure out how that can be enforced !
I guess it's only fair that I should be able to answer a complaint or motion the court on FB as well....
Haha, excellent point!
Like anyone will pay anymore attention to a Facebook notice than a real notice.
We want to see banking and lenders complete failure across the board wipe the books clean or is that only for large corporations?
