I already told you why the US Military Cost So MUCH.

GET RID OF ALL THE EXPENSIVE US CIVILIANS IN THE US MILITARY. That will cut the US Defense Budget by at least 50%.

President Obama knows this and has ordered Secretary of Defense Gates to do something about all the expensive US Civilians in the US Military. So now many US Civilian Positions in the US Military are being either: a. Eliminated, 100% Savings by eliminating Political Appointees, Interns with no US Military Experience in yet in the US Military (Pentagon) and high level department heads. b. Switched back to Federal Civil Service. 50% Savings compared to US Civilians, over 60% saving if Contractors. c. Being switched back to US Military, the best savings, over 80% savings, and incentive once again; like before to join US Military to learn a skill (positions currently held by expensive US Civilians, previously done by cheaper US Military: Logistics, Supply, Transportation, Food Service, Water Purification, Vehicle and Aircraft Maintenance, Construction and Engineering, Weapons Maintenance, Laundry Services, Facilities Maintenance, Shower Facilities, etc.. Translation: While in a Combat Zone they must be protected by US Military as Non Combatants as well as receiving the same US Military Benefits and Privilages, plus additional privilages not available to US Military (Air Conditioning, Armored SUVs, Hotel Rooms, Telephone and Internet, TGI Fridays, Burger King, Starbucks, KFC, etc.).

You cannot have it both ways, Chop the US Military without chopping the Millions of US Civilians that are in the US Military (Millions of US Civilian Jobs Lost).

How the above relates to the Article, Techology leaks to Foreign Nations by US Contractors: Recent Contractors wanting to assist Venezuela to build Nuclear Weapon. Notice they were Contractors. Turn Los Alamos, Sandia, etc. back over to the US Military. We have sworn or affirmed Oaths and can be tried for treason for doing things like what these Contractors did. The ONLY reason one of the two can be tried for Treason is because the one that was Naturalized sworn or affirmed an Oath to the US. The other one, US Citizen, cannot. This is not the Cold War Era anymore, many US Laws were either amended (weakened) or eliminated.

In the mountains there are thousands of miles of mines, mineshafts, that are hundreds of feet under the mountains. Some mountains are honeycombed with mines, mineshafts, air shafts, etc. These go into many of the surrounding Countries. Some of these date back to the Egyptian Empire, with these minerals sold to them, especially gold and gems.

The Afghans that live in these mines, did not rebuild their villages after the USSR 40th Army Carpet Bombed and massacred as many Afghans as possible.

The Afghans (entire villages) that live in these mines have adapted the mines to be "Green Tech", cool during the summers, minimal heat to keep warm during the harsh (near Arctic) Winters in the mountains. Some of the airshafts have large pools of clean water under them. They use metal pounded into large concave mirrors to beam light from mirror to mirror. Electric Generators make noise and require expensive hard to get fuel (no roads), the noise attracts the Taliban, with the Taliban raiding them for food, temporary shelter, and their sons (new forced recruits).

You want to win this War, stop trying to use US Military Conventional Warfare in an Asymmetric War. Conventional Warfare versus Asymmetric Warfare is a Historically known automatic LOSS for Conventional Warfare. Conventional Warfare is what the USSR attempted to do also, except with more personnel, equipment, funds than the US Military currently has. Also the USSR used Chemical Weapons like Mustard Gas, Agent Purple, poisoning water wells, millions of tons of area denial weapons (landmines), etc.. Only 3% of the entire US Military is trained in actual Asymmetric Warfare, and only 2% of the entire US Military is trained AND equipped to conduct US Military Asymmetric Mountain Warfare (3/4ths of this country is mountains).

Seriously. I want one.

Because they were too lazy to read Robert Heinlein's book, Starship Troopers, and only watched the movie (no powered dropsuits were in the movie. The book started with them attacking the skinnies. after being dropped in the suits from orbit.).

The movie was also considered as Anti War, as having the Starship Troopers outgunned instead of having the suits in the book, that also had tactical nuclear missile launchers on their backs.

So many even missed the most important concept as stated in the book, mandatory compulsory Military Service to EARN Citizenship (Franchise).

They have been around for a very longtime.

Some were former US Army Special Forces. We train to do their job, they train to do our job. They are an intergral part of US Army Special Forces Teams, USAF Special Operations Wings, USMC MARSOC, USN SEAL Teams, as attached as USAF Special Tactics Teams. This gives each of the Teams additional individual firepower, to call in airstrikes and additional intelligence gathering capabilities.

But yes, this article makes the mistake of calling them Special Forces, when they are in fact USAF Special Operations (USAF Special Tactics Teams).

As far as technology we learned after years how much technology does not Win. We use small solar panels on our backs similar to automotive (to recharge smart batteries and operate equipment), and larger folding ones for our satellite communications. For emergencies we have hand crank generators. To heat water food ect we use solar ovens. We have learned to rely on as least amount of electricity as possible. What matters the most is to have long range weapons like the M21s/M25s (semi auto 1,200m) like we have as our standard weapons, that can meet or exceed the range of the AKMs (semi auto 800m), RPGs (800m), SVDs (semi auto 1600m), AK-47 (semi auto 600m), etc., VERSUS the 1960s designed short ranged jungle warfare M-16s (semi auto 350m) and M-4s (semi auto 250m). The M110s have proven unreliable due to the same type of aluminum gas tube over the barrel and under the handguards, that clog requiring an armorer, just like the M-16s and M-4s.). Due to the higher technology manufacturing of the M-16s/M-4s, very close tolerances they have not enough slop factor and require constant maintenance and cleaning, unlike the M21s, M25s and all the enemy weapons. The M21s, M25s and enemy weapons have gas pistons that are accessable for outside the weapons without having to disassemble the entire weapon or carrying special tools to clear carbon buildup or particle jams (dirt, sand, etc.).
